Stop Spammers Hijacking Your Web Forms
Did you know that spammers can take control of the forms on your web site and use them to send huge amounts of spam?
Today I am linking to the article that helped me prevent spammers from hijacking my forms. In case you are not aware, it is possible for spammers to use the forms on your web site as a vehicle for them to send spam to their victims, using your email address and server resources.
And they can do that all via forms on your web site.
You have make sure your forms are adequetley protected if you want to prevent this abuse. And if you don’t, and a spammer does hijack your forms, you and your server will be the source of the spam, not the spammere and his server.
This is quite serious. It means you can be blamed and your domain can be blacklisted if you inadvertantly allow spammers to use the forms on your web site. Many form processing scripts have been altered to filter out this kind of abuse, but if you or your web designer wrote the forms yourselves, you may want to check this advice on form hijacking.
